“The idea that democracy – i.e. voting for somebody – is an attack on, err, democracy was so crazy that, had we any kind of independent media, it would have been ridiculed to death.
That of course has not happened. We are sonorously told we are a nation in crisis. Ordinary forms of democratic activity – free assembly, free speech, and free voting – all threaten our society”. Craig Murray
This lead-in is used as a barometer to gauge where the free press stands amidst the crisis (of legitimacy) that Western democracies are tortuously suffering through.
The author quoted resides in the U.K. In case you haven’t noticed, freedom of speech and the press are besieged by oppressive legislative machinations in the Commonwealth vassals nations even more despotically than here in the U.S.—thanks, in large part, to the bulwark Americans have in the U.S. Constitution.
Reading deeper into the article uncovers a brilliant thesis the author uses to expose the sheer hypocrisy and duplicity, yet exceedingly effective strategy, the “political Establishment” uses to marginalize, even silence any voices of dissent that challenge the preferred politically correct narrative being foisted on the common citizenry by the political/financial elites.
In this case, the particular taboo under review is when an objective observer holds forth a public criticism in ordinary social discourse, but whose dispatch is thunderously countered by a scathing editorial piece that accuses the truthteller of unconscionable antisemitism.
He continues:
“The political Establishment, having established support for Israel as the fundamental measure of political respectability which could neatly be used to exclude radicals from political discourse, have been unable to shift ground and drop it.
They are clinging to Israel, not because they have a genuine belief Israel is a force for good, not because they believe in religious Zionism, not even because they believe it is a necessary colonialist project in the Middle East, but because it has been for decades their totem, the very badge of political respectability, the membership card for the political country club.
Israel is now toxic to the public and the entire history of ethnic cleansing, massacre and long genocide on which the very existence of Israel is based, is now laid bare. The political class are now in a panic, and lashing out everywhere”.1
Well, suppose you happen to be a dyed-in-the-wool Zionist. In that case, you of course still resort to accusing anybody who questions the state of Israel’s murderous and vengeful military operations in Gaza as palpably guilty of “antisemitism”.
But people are seeing through this demeaning shibboleth tirelessly regurgitated by the cancel culture radicals. Public commentators with any modicum of chutzpah are not as easily coerced by the threat of being labeled as antisemitic simply because that trope is so obviously weaponized lately. To be pro-humanitarian—even pro-Palestinian— does not have to equate with being antisemite or anti-anything for that matter.
Let’s use (author Murray’s) article’s premise about twisting a social paradigm for political control and applying it to what we would define as other popular memes or even hashtags in today’s 24/7 social media ecosystem.
Most illustrative of this is labeling any intelligent discussion about the risks of getting the covid shots by anyone who dares to do their own research or insists on informed consent as an “anti-vaxxer”. We know with certainty that unimpeachable medical authorities have now concluded that the COVID-19 jabs are technically and legally classed as experimental gene therapy capable of being used as biological warfare vectors and are categorically misnamed as vaccines.2
Another example of being easily stereotyped while risking outright dismissive cancellation as a “Putin puppet” was offering any opinion that the Ukraine war was provoked by the NATO-led West. This is corroborated by official documents already made public and ascertained authentic, yet there persists the disproven, scare-monger, narrative that Russia’s President wants to conquer all of Europe.3
The list is indeed long if you were to identify all the narratives that are currently on the radar of psy-op-control by the Deep State technocrats. Why, even believing there is such a thing as an alleged “deep state” puts you at risk of being classified as a domestic terrorist.
Yet, I will try to keep that list shortened for the sake of brevity and focus.
To return to the opening line at the top…, “[H]ad we any kind of independent media, it would have been ridiculed to death”.
Can I ask, how would the recent State of the Union speech delivered by the man occupying the #46 presidency have been reviewed if the major media was truly independent? (Thankfully, we still can access honest journalism online).
Now I will confess. I did not watch the SOTU speech live. I knew I wanted to wait until the following day and read the reviews of all or most of the independent content creators/commentators that I trust. I decided I would filter my viewing through 4 or 5 of my favorite bloggers.
From what I was able to glean from my trusted sources, the overwhelming assessment (among my core advisors) was that the actual content of Biden’s messaging was divisive and partisan. It’s almost like he took the opportunity that should serve to unify the nation and make us feel good about what our government is doing and turned it into a campaign speech that attempted to turn the voters away from the opposition candidate.
It's one thing to read the negative remarks about Biden’s performance by the people you normally agree with. It’s quite another to read what is being said among the pundits who will be voting for the Democratic ticket this election cycle.
The real marker is the spin that the mainstream media gives to anyone with political clout or celebrity, anyone on the Democratic side of the aisle that could lend any sort of credibility or excitement around what Biden had to say.
I think the 1st or second person I went to the morning after the SOTU was Tucker Carlson. He had two guests on to help him with the show. The first to be given a guest appearance was Victor Davis Hanson. He remarked that this was the angriest speech he had witnessed given by a U.S. president. I’m not going to put words in his mouth, but I distinctly remember him saying his experience listening to that SOTU was unprecedented and amounted to little more than a campaign speech being made, which as a 70-year-old senior political analyst who has heard his share of SOTU speeches is saying something.
The really surprising guest that Tucker brought on next was Alex Jones. He, like Victor noted the anger that came out of Joe. A very interesting point that all 3 commentators made was the observation that Biden has to amp himself up, and energize himself with ire and acrimony to arouse enough passion and mental fortitude to get through an on-camera event like this.
It's become rather a repetitive observation that an energized Joe Biden is a cantankerous old man firing himself up with a less-than-comforting pathos that verges on raw psychosis. There’s always the unconfirmed suspicion offered by his critics that it takes considerable pharmaceutical help to give #46 some synthetic fortitude.
Like Tucker, I found myself agreeing with almost everything that Alex Jones had to say. One thing that struck me was when he compared the visage of Joe, multiple times throughout his speech, his face seemed contorted into a sort of grimace. Alex said he reminded him of a dinosaur. And he tied that into the idea that Joe is the PR spokesman for a regime or empire that is going the way of the dinosaurs.
I guess I hang out too much with the crowd who identify with the color red. It’s easy to see photos, photo-shopped or not, of a scowling or sneering Joe Biden captured in his least complimentary moments used to disparage his character.
As a corollary, if you are not enamored of the guy running on the Republican ticket, it’s normal to see DJT portrayed as orange-man bad.
I see far more pics of Trump looking genuinely presidential than the man he is running against.
Yet, what I can share with you is that the editorials I read by admittedly right-leaning pundits, nevertheless confirm my feelings about the state of our union under the administration run by the Biden collective.
The way that the legacy media was able to normalize what could be reasonably characterized as a barely modulated rant rankling out of the mouth of a gruff curmudgeon, we have been assured by the popular punditry that (what) we are witnessing is Joe just being “fiery”.
In the context of what is going on in Gaza, which is in no small measure directly attributable to the policies coming out of Biden’s administration and his refusal to use his position and office to thwart the heinous murder of non-combatants among the Palestinian population…
In the sure knowledge we now possess that a US/UK-led NATO trans-Atlantic alliance spearheaded by then Prime Minister Boris Johnson, purposely derailed negotiations that were ongoing and were leading to a peace settlement between the Ukrainians and Russians—knowing that Joe Biden assented to a NATO strategy that agitated for war with the specific mission to destabilize and ruin Russia with an actual goal to force a regime change; in the aftermath of so much death and destruction, it is undeniable that the heads of state of both the U.S. and U.K. are jointly responsible for those irreparable losses.
Without even going into the disastrous conditions that exist at the U.S. border with Mexico…
The American press incredulously goes about its business normalizing the sheer constitutional apostasy we are dealing with.
Well, at least there are some commentators online who are willing and able to voice their honest, unredacted opinions. And as a positive reminder, it is refreshing to note that there is indeed a healthy, vibrant, and relatively free, alternative news ecosystem that still permits public criticism of our government leaders in the United States.
Yet the welcome candidness that can be found on the alternative news sites, the courageous and truthful journalists who are willing to risk an honest appraisal out in the hard-to-find, uncensored media outlets—where is that kind of forthrightness going to be found among those elected officials putatively representing us in the United States Capital?
That is more disconcerting to me than what genocide Joe had to say. How is it possible that among those seated in the esteemed chamber of the House of Representatives, in the D.C. Beltway, spin-meistered, bubble, there are so few members willing to (conspicuously) reject the mendacious and pugilistic oratory and its sycophantic coverage, traditionally meant to be an opportunity for dignified statesmanship by a U.S. president?
Reportedly, there are a lot of Democrats breathing a sigh of relief about the viability of their incumbent candidate after his SOTU performance. Yet, according to all the poll numbers, the support for reelecting Biden and continuing his policies is at historical lows for any president on record.
A more accurate picture of assessing the state of our Union is offered by Colonel Douglas McGregor.
A case before the Supreme Court under review has far-reaching implications on how the U.S. government interacts with Big Tech social media.

After two years of dragging the country of Ukraine into an impossible proxy war against Russia, Washington’s intel agencies have finally concluded that Moscow is seeking to avoid direct clash with the West. Of course, this flies in the face of all the media and political propaganda being reproduced in the western political economy. https://www.sgtreport.com/2024/03/us-intel-report-russia-not-looking-for-direct-clash-with-west-2/
